PETE SANTA MARIA – BIO
Pete has always had a passion for photography and film. He was nicknamed “Rookie” soon after starting his career with Taylor Steele of Poor Specimen. For the last 20 years, Pete has worked for high profile companies including, Nike, Nike Livestrong, Asics America, Biosense Webster a Johnson and Johnson Company, Eddie Bauer, CBS, NBC, Taylor Made, Fox’s Fuel TV, Billabong, Hurley, Reef, Burton Snowboards, Dragon Alliance, Dos Equis and Fox Racing. One of Pete’s major accomplishments includes becoming the first producer at Fuel TV, where he helped developed much of their original programming like the show “Firsthand.” Pete recently got the opportunity to film/document all the behind the scenes at the 2010 Tour de France for Nike Livestrong. Pete has been nominated and has won awards for his work on action sports documentaries that have been showcased at film festivals like X-Dance. Pete currently resides in Carlsbad with his wife Jennifer and their three beautiful children, Carter, Payten and Grace.
