Today I documented a day in the life with Ryan Hall at the ASICS HQ in Irvine. Ryan spent his whole day with many designers. I believe the highlight for me was watching Ryan design his shoes for the Olympics. For more info on Ryan Hall go to: Asicsamerica.com or ryanandsarahall.com

Lolo Jones – Baton Rouge, LA
Project: Lolo Jones Video Shoot
Client Asics America
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
There are athletes and then there are super athletes like Lolo Jones. It was hard for me to prepare for this trip and project. Its not like you can just show up and shoot whatever. For this trip, i gathered the best of the best. I made a couple phone calls and some how managed to get Mark Shonka from Oakley in which he showed up with an new RED EPIC camera and a ton of glass (thank you sir), then i called on Iain Harris from Hype Media who has been traveling this whole year with me and he shows up with a RED EPIC CAMERA as well, and then i got the honor to bring legend photographer and one of my best friends John Schnack of Schnackstudios. This project will go down in my top 3 best trips.

ING NEW YORK CITY MARATHON
Project: 2011 ING NEW YORK CITY MARATHON
Client: Asics America
Location: NYC
ASICS takes over the NYC. Where do I start. How long was i there? 7 days. What did I do? I documented the ING NYC MARATHON for ASICS. It was 7 days of filming. We would film and edit the same day so the web content was fresh every morning. Not my favorite way to work(lack of sleep) but thanks to my amazing team, we pulled it off.The team consisted of 4 filmers, 4 scooters, 4 scooter drives, 4 PA’s supplied by the ING ,a managing producer to keep us on point, and an amazing team of ASICS representatives. This was an amazing opportunity for the entire unified ING New York City Marathon community to raise way more money than ever and make the ING NYC Marathon the most incredible fundraising event of the century.

My dream came true on this trip, i got to visit one of the most famous camera stores in the world – BHphoto and Video. You could spend a lot of money here.
Kelly Slater and Daphne’s California Greek
Project: Daphne’s California Greek Video Shoot with Kelly Slater
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Daphne’s a new client of mine hired me to do a one day video shoot with Kelly Slater. That was pretty much a no brainer for me. Kelly being a long time friend of mine thanks to Taylor Steele is one of my favorite people to work with. The shoot started in the am at the Carlsbad restaurant location then in the afternoon we headed to Daphne’s owner Bill Trefethen’s house for a little celebration. Congrats Kelly on your 11th World Title.

INFO: Professional surfer Kelly Slater, who has long been a symbol of the healthy athlete, has been hired as a pitchman for Daphne’s California Greek, a San Diego-based restaurant chain that emerged from bankruptcy and is now trying to draw more customers with healthier food. Slater, 39, will create a surf team that represents the company and he’ll serve as a consultant on Daphne’s menu. The company is adding a variety of items, such as seafood and salad dishes that contain fewer than 700 calories.
DAPHNE’S PRESENTS AN IN-STORE CONCERT WITH DONAVON FRANKENREITER
As phase two of the re-imaging of Daphne’s California Greek restaurants unfolds into a California lifestyle concept, the
forward thinking chain has developed an awesome music program, with fresh indie music mixes reverberating throughout the chain’s
57 restaurants in the Western U.S., and available as free downloads at www.Daphnes.biz. This intimate evening of music with DONAVON FRANKENREITER marks the second in-store concert event which is part of Daphne’s Music Program. The music platform, visioned by the new CEO, Bill Trefethen, features an Artist of the Month and is highlighted by live performances, which started in August 2011, and will continue at select Daphne’s California Greek restaurant locations. 2011 Kona Ironman
Client: ASICS AMERICA
Project: 2011 Kona Ironman
Info: If you have not experienced an ironman event, you should probably plan to check one out in your lifetime. Talk about putting your body to the test. I seriously do not understand these athletes. They are pretty much out of their minds in a good way i guess. Thanks to Asics shoes, i got the chance to document Andy Potts and Matty Reed at this event.

Lifeproof Commerical Spot
One of the bigger production shoots i have put together was for this company Lifeproof. We had a 3 day shoot to make a 30 to 90 second spot. We shot on 3 canon 5d mark 2′s, a Red “epic” camera for slow motion, and about 5 different locations. Special Thanks to the Lifeproof crew (Gary, Dan and Kyle), Andy Grush @ Grush music for the music and sound design, Nathan Gerhard for all animation and graphics, Angie Yang for the voice over, and to Iain Harris of Hype Media for putting together a lot of the production crew.
